Notes from London…

November 30th, 2014

Just back from a quick jaunt to the banks of the Thames- to take in exhibits, visit friends and sample some good things.  On the way, it seemed natural to anticipate a plate of “fish & chips”.  But that wasn’t on the menu this trip….instead of trad English, the streets of Covent Garden were lined with temptations more ‘global’.  From falafel to tandoori chicken, Neal Street and environs held unexpected tasting adventures… Canela Café.  A perfect misty day stop at dusk, just tea time -or for a glass of Portuguese wine – and do treat yourself to a “pasteis”, the vagabond’s favorite pastry. So, next time in London, I will return to Canela, 33 Earl Street, to explore their lunch menu, whatever the weather!
